Stand Up For Yourself!

How to Pee Standing Up Using an STP Device

This site is for anyone who wants to pee standing up and needs a little help. The good news is: it’s very easy! You just need some practice, a sense of humor, and an STP (stand-to-pee device).

All are Welcome Here!

Cis women and girls can pee standing up.

Trans men and trans women can pee standing up.

Nonbinary people can pee standing up.

Intersex people can pee standing up.

Cis men who need support can pee standing up.

And if you’re just here to support someone you care about, you are welcome too.

What is an STP?

  • An STP (stand-to-pee device) is a small, simple tool that allows someone to pee standing up who otherwise wouldn’t be able to.

  • It’s also called an PUD (personal urination device).

  • It’s ALSO called an FUD (female urination device), which is a popular term for it right now. It’s a misnomer as people who are not female use such devices.

  • It might be a funnel, it might be a taco-shape, it might even be a straw.

  • You do not need to remove clothing to use an STP; most are designed to slip inside your pants.

  • Most will also allow you to pee in bottles.

  • You do not need to touch your private parts with your hands (except sometimes for a Pibella type).

  • You wipe by pulling the STP along your private parts and away from yourself when you are done (squeegee-ing yourself).

  • Although you may make mistakes while you are learning, STPs are clean and do not get urine on your hands or clothing when used correctly.

  • Most are small enough to fit in a pocket or fanny pack; slightly larger ones can go in a purse or backpack. The pStyle shown above is only 7.5 inches. The SuAmiga is a funnel that collapses so it can be easily stored. The GoPee can be unfolded to a flat, pocketable square.

When Would I Use an STP?

  • The great outdoors! Camping, hiking, etc. No more squatting in the poison ivy and peeing on your feet.

  • Festivals, concerts, and any large event where there are not adequate restrooms.

  • Roadtrips/traffic jams. If you’ve been on the road, you know there are looooong stretches without restrooms. You don’t have to have your butt hanging out by the side of the road.

  • Gender affirmation! Be yourself.

  • The military, nuff said.

  • Just really gross bathrooms where you don’t want to touch anything.

  • Any job where you have a uniform that’s tricky or time-consuming to pull down.

  • Dealing with injuries or disabilities that make it hard to sit down and get up, or that make peeing standing up hard on your own.

  • You just want to! It’s a good skill to have and it’s fun too.

If you’re nervous to try, if you’ve had bad experiences in the past, or if you don’t know what you want: Welcome. Give it a chance! Mess around, see what’s here, and take a walk on the wild side. Got questions? Reach out to Maz at gostandingup@gmail.com
